This 1954 film documents where and why the Civil War happened. The American Civil War (sometimes the War between the States, or simply the Civil War) was a civil war fought from 1861 to 1865 between the United States (the “Union” or the “North”) and several Southern slave states that had declared their secession and formed the Confederate States of America (the “Confederacy” or the “South”).

World War II 1942 – This film documents why the US entered World War II with actual scene footage

Portrayal of the steps that led up to Pearl Harbor and total mobilization of World War II. Nothing has been staged. Every scene in this film is authentic. This film represents an attempt to record history in the making. The Editors are Americans, and therefore partisans, but every effort has been made to let the facts speak for themselves.

A 1960 documentary about Integration – Scary era to grow up in if you were black – 20 min. long

Documentary showing the civil rights movement in 1959 and 1960: sit-ins, marches, boycotts and rallies in Montgomery, Ala., Brooklyn, N.Y., and Washington, D.C. Directed by Madeline Anderson. This documentary is 20 minutes long. Growing up in that era must have been very scary if you were black.
